The Shabby Tea Room ♥ Guest Designer ♥

This week I have the honor and pleasure of being the Guest Designer over at The Shabby Tea Room blog. What a great challenge blog!! They always have the most fun challenges and awesome prizes! {This week's prize, is a $100 Gift Certificate to JustRite!!!} If you haven't already been there, check it out! You won't be disappointed! Trust me! {wink} Thanks again Debbie and the DT for having me! :)

What a FUN challenge this week too! It is called 1-2-3! You must use 1 ribbon, 2 buttons and 3 punches or dies on your card/project! Other than that, you can use any design, colors or style. It doesn't have to be shabby! For my card, I used 1 12" piece of Debbie's {gorgeous} seam binding ribbon to make 2 small bows, 2 buttons and 3 punches. I used a 3" Marvy Uchida circle punch to make the curvy top of the bib tag, the Martha Stewart mini Butterfly punch and the MS Scalloped Edge punch. For starters, I cut a piece of light pink cardstock on an angle with my trimmer for the base of the pocket. Then cut a slightly smaller piece of patterned paper at an angle, adhered with tacky glue (or you can use a hot glue gun too) on the bottom and left sides onto the cardstock. Then dress up as you wish! And there you have an easy peasy pocket that you can put the tag into as well as a gift card or money! I distressed and inked my edges, added some punched OA paper to the top of the pocket as well as the Little Yellow Bicycle stickers, punched butterflies, rub-on, glitter and pearls. For the bib tag, I started by tracing a 4 1/2" circle (from a cup saucer) onto my pink cardstock, then trimmed out with a pair of scallop scissors. I then took the 3" punch, and using only half of it, punched out the curve. I then distressed the edges a bit, added a piece of The Girl's Paperie paper, the seam binding bows, buttons and Little Yellow Bicycles cardstock sticker. And there you have a fun and unique way to give a card and gift all in one! Just imagine all the different shaped tags that you can use. A balloon shaped tag for a birthday, ornament shaped tag for Christmas, wedding gown shaped tag for a wedding or bridal shower, the ideas are endless! Soo fun!!So don't forget to head over to The Shabby Tea Room blog to enter the 1-2-3 challenge and for your chance to win a fabulous prize! Have fun creating!! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

And don't forget to enter my Blogaversary Giveaway above! You just might win a Cricut Cake!! Have a wonderful day!

♥ Christmas in July! ♥

Hi everyone! I'm sorry that I have been missing in action lately! I first took a week off to prepare for our annual 4th of July party, then needed to take a couple of days off to recover from our 4th of July party! hehe My "baby bump" has now turned into a "baby mountain"! So I am easily tired now heading into the home stretch! Only a little more than a month to go! Yippee! So I haven't felt much like doing any crafting lately. I hope you forgive me! {wink} Well, until yesterday anyway! I must admit, I went up to my craft studio and instantly caught the bug! I then saw this week's challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room blog and that was all I needed! This week's theme challenge is "Christmas in July". My 2 favorite things! Summer and Christmas! (even though I like the cold and snow for Christmas!)So I decided to make 2 cards for this fun theme! The first one is a Snow Globe card. They are so fun to make! I used some Webster's Pages papers from their 6"x6" Holiday Collection pack, some October Afternoon cardstock stickers, Martha Stewart punched snowflakes, pearls, gingham ribbon, white ball trim and of course, lots of glitter! My next card is a Gift Card holder. So easy to make. Just mat a piece of paper onto a slightly larger piece of paper using an adhesive on the bottom and sides. Take a circle punch and punch half a circle onto the top left hand corner of the smaller piece of paper. Instant gift card holder! I used some more Webster's Pages papers, graphic 45 tags, Hero Arts stamp, MS punched branches, more glitter, Debbie's hand dyed seam binding (love it!), red ribbon and hemp cord.I will be back very soon with my Blogaversary Giveaway! I can't believe it's been 2 years since I started my blog! Since I will be taking a break after the baby is born at the end of August (I will post pics though!) I wanted to give away a very special gift to my friends! Hopefully you will all stick around until I come back! And don't forget, I will be giving away a CRICUT CAKE!! Woo-Hoo!! So stay tuned!!Have a wonderful day!!
