Vintage Baby Set

Here is a gift set for a new baby that I made to sell at my upcoming craft show. I took one of those $1 frames from Michael's and decorated it with some beautiful Fancy Pants papers as well as my favorite Melissa Frances Vintage Baby labelscrocheted ribbon, satin ribbon, pearls and some Making Memories Baby Charms.

The card is made from a scalloped Cardstock base and some more of the Fancy Pants papers, Melissa Frances label, cotton ribbon, button, pearls and a stamp (Little One) from Inque Boutique. I also did some hand stitched on the card as well. {Man, I sure do need a Sewing Machine!! Hint, Hint Santa!!}

And for the First Tooth box, I used one of those little boxes you can also get in the $1 bin at Michaels. Don't you just love buying things for a buck!! It also has some Fancy pants paper, crocheted ribbon, satin polka dotted ribbon, Melissa Frances labels, pearls, a button and some cotton ribbon.

I hope these will sell good! They are so much prettier in person! {oh, yeah, Santa, I could use a new camera too!} Hope you like em'!

Have a great day and don't forget to keep voting for me here!! Thanks!!

Today is the day!

To start voting again!! This is my layout for Round 3 of Simple Scrapbooks "So You Think You Can Stamp" contest.(Doesn't my son look adorable in this photo! He was picking dandelions out of the grass, for his Mommy and Grandma! Man, I love that kid!!) We had to stamp on fabric and/or ribbon, trim. I stamped all the flowers, leaves, vine, stitching on the pocket, stamping on the stars and the "Ring around the Rosie" quote on the pocket all on white fabric. I then went and colored in the images with pastel chalks. I also stamped on the green ribbon on the bottom of the layout. All stamps used are by Inque Boutique. The green polka dotted paper was made by using another round scalloped paper as a template and then I attached the blue patterned paper by Webster's Pages onto that. That paper was also square. I used a dimple dinner plate to trace the circle and then I cut it out. And the paper the photo is matted on, is also by Webster's Pages.

I sure hope you will come and vote for me! You can vote as much as you'd like starting today at 12:00 MST until Thursday the 2nd at 12:00 MST. You can vote for me(melissa1872) here!

This is the next to Final round, so hopefully with your votes I can make it to the Final round! Thank you for voting!!

Have a great day!

Baby Tales!

Here is a simple baby card I made!

I punched the holes into the scallops on the card with my croc-o-dile. I then added the Fancy Pants PP and drew the stitch marks with a black marker. I then added the ribbon, bow and button. Then I drew some stitch marks on the Melissa Frances CS label and then adhered that to the paper. I then adhered that adorable butterfly ribbon to the top and bottom of the label. So easy!!

Have a great day!

Snowflake Coaster Cards~

I had this mini 4x4 Sheer Coaster Album by Maya Road for like a year now and wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it. Until today! I thought wow! they would make cute little cards! So that's what I did! I punched holes in the top center of each page with my Croc-o-dile and used some sheer ribbon to tie them together. The large snowflakes are wood, made by Provo Craft, which I painted in 2 different shades of blues and 1 in white. Then I coated them all with some Glitter Glaze and added ribbons, hemp cord and buttons. I inked the edges of the cards with white ink and added some pp on the insides for sentiments. I used either stamps(Inque Boutique), crystal snowflakes(Hero Arts) or white branches(Martha Stewart punch) to them.

This is the one with the Martha Stewart punched branches.

This one has the Hero Arts Crystal Snowflakes.

And this one has the Inque Boutique Stamps on it.

These are so easy and fun to make. I hope you enjoy them!!

Have a great day!

A couple of Toots, a Special Thank You and some Blog Candy!

Well, today I found out that I made it to the Third Round of Simple Scrapbooks "So You Think You Can Stamp" Contest! Woo-Hoo!! Thank you very much to all who voted for me! I really appreciate it! I am so excited! Now we have to stamp on Fabric and/or Trim, Ribbon. Can you believe I am almost done already?? I had drawn out the sketch that I thought up, on yesterday, with the hopes that I would make it. So it was a little easier to get it started since I already knew what I wanted to do. But, of course, I am changing it a little as I go! Voting will start up again on Monday and I will post my layout here on Monday too!

My second toot!, is that, Melissa, the owner of TheRubberCafe.com, had posted my Autumn Greetings card on her blog yesterday! I was shocked and thrilled when I clicked on her blog and saw my card. Thanks Melissa! Their stamps are awesome! Have I mentioned that already, like a hundred times!! LOL

My Third Toot!, is that Scrapfriends.com made the same card their Layout of the Day, yesterday! And I didn't even know it until today when my friend Lindsay told me! I was totally honored because their are alot of talented ladies on there and for them to pick mine, I was surprised!

And last but certainly not least, My good friend Mitzi did a whole post on me on her blog last week! She is the sweetest!! Check out her blog here! Mitzi, you Rock, girl! Thanks!

Well, I don't want to blow my horn anymore! I might pop a vein or something!!

And finally, Go and visit Michelle's Blog, "Stamps, Paper Scissors and Donkey Smiles" for some awesome blog candy! {Isn't that the sweetest blog name!} The candy is the cutest stamps ever!! And her cards are AMAZING!! Check them out!

Thanks again for voting for me and for stopping by my little part of the web!!

Say Thank You to a Alzheimer's Care Giver!

In honor of World Alzheimer's Day(Sept. 21st), Carolyn King has asked all of her blog followers to pass the word on this terrible disease. She has asked that you make a Thank you card and send it off to someone who cares for someone with Alzheimer's. So this is my card. I will be sending it off to the local care facility here in my town called Crestwood Manor. My grandmother started to get this awful disease before she died and I know how difficult it is to care for someone who can't remember things. It really is a shame that more can't be done in this age to treat this horrible disease. But hopefully, the future will bring more change.

So please pass this on and post it on your blog! Oh yeah, and did I mention the BLOG CANDY!!!! There is over $1000 worth of candy to one lucky person who links their card to her blog here! Check out the wonderful things that have been donated by so many awesome companies and people!

Have a great day and do something nice for someone today! It will make their day and yours!!

Hugs, Melissa

Some More Rubber Cafe Cards!

Here are a couple more cards I just finished for Rubber Cafe. I just love this pumpkin and corn stamp! I can't stop using it!! Their stamps are awesome, you really have to check them out!

I colored in the Pumpkin and Corn stamp with my Martha Stewart markers(love these too!). That gorgeous die cut paper is by Creative Imaginations. The cute little chipboard birdie is by Maya Road which I covered in more CI paper and added a pearl for the eye. The branch punch is by Martha Stewart and the crocheted lace ribbon is from ACMoore. I love the way this turned out!

This card was made using the Swirly Ball, Long Swirly Ornament and Bow stamps also from Rubber Cafe. I colored them in lightly with some chalks and added some sparkly glitter. The paper is by Basic Grey (Figgy Pudding). Added some ribbon to finish it off. It looks much sparklier and prettier in person. (Don't you just hate when you can't get a good photo!!)

Well, that's all for today! And don't forget to keep voting for me at the Simple Scrapbooks Stamping Contest here! My username is Melissa1872. Thanks!

Autumn Greetings

Here is my 2nd Rubber Cafe card. I love these stamps! This was made with a stamp called Pumpkin and Corn (J-1068). I stamped it in a dark brown ink then colored it in with some Copic and Martha Stewart markers. The papers are all Cosmo Cricket and the CS is Bazzill Basics. I also added some ribbons, a button and I used a Martha Stewart Branch Punch for the little branches coming out from behind the button. Love that punch! Then I added dots using a Marvy Uchida White Paint marker and a brown Martha Stewart marker.

Hope you like it!

My First Rubber Cafe Card!

Here is my first card that I made using my new stamps from The Rubber Cafe. I am very excited to be a part of this Design Team. Their stamps are awesome and the ladies on the DT are super talented! (And YAY! my friend Lindsay is on there too!)

I first made a half fold card using some white cardstock. I then cut out a window in the center of the card, a little bigger than the size of the stamp.(I never measure) I then cut a piece of Basic Grey paper (stripes)and adhered it to the front of the card. I used a tiny bit of glue stick to adhere it, just enough so it wouldn't move. You don't want to glue the edges, because later you need to add your ribbon and Ornament. I then used my craft knife to cut out the center of the Basic Grey paper using the first window's edge as my template.

I then stamped the Swirled Ball Ornament, twice onto a piece of light green paper (Fancy Pants) using my Top Boss Embossing pad and the bow, twice with a dark green ink. I "sprinkled" some gold and red EP on the ornaments and heated them up. On the bows, I used a glue pen and then sprinkled some ultra fine white glitter on them. I then adhered the 2 balls back to back, so there is a front and back as well as the bow. They don't match up perfectly, since they are the same image, but that gives it a little more dimension when looking at it. I then adhered the bows to the balls and then tucked it into the little opening between the Basic Grey paper and the white CS, adhering with some more glue.

I then trimmed my ribbon to size and adhered it to the back of the striped paper and then glued all the corners down to the CS. Added my bow and a clear Merry Christmas sticker. To finish it off, I added some more Basic Grey paper to the inside of the card. I hope you like it!

Don't forget to come and vote for me at the Simple Scrapbooks Stamping Contest! Voting is until Thursday at noon MST and you can vote as much you'd like! (Hopefully, alot for ME!! LOL) You can vote here! I am listed as Melissa1872.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Simple Scrapbooks Round 2 Layout

Well, here it is! Here is my layout for Round 2 of Simple Scrapbooks Magazine's "So You Think You Can Stamp" Contest. You had to stamp on a transparency. I first, cut out the center of the Pink Paislee paper and then attached a piece of transparency to the back of the paper. So I now have a "window". I then stamped my images onto a piece of transparency using multiple colors of inks, cut them out and then added them to the layout "window" using mini glue dots. The photo is matted on a piece of Ki Memories Lace Cardstock. The stamps used are by Inkadinkado except for the large pumpkin is a Inque Boutique stamp which I colored in with some Copic Markers.

I hope you come and vote for me! I need all the votes I can get! Their are 12 finalists in this round and only 8 will advance to the next round. And in order to advance, you need alot of votes!! The voting opens Monday the 22nd at Noon. You can vote as many times as you'd like up until Thursday the 25th at Noon. So, please come and vote for me here! I would really appreciate it!

Thank you to everyone who voted for me on the last round!!

The ribbon and that gorgeous crocheted lace can be found at ACMoore.

Frankenstein Card...Well kinda!!

Here is a fun Halloween card I just made. The wooden fence and moon are by Provo Craft. I covered the moon with some Pink Paislee MoonRakers paper from their new Vintage Moon Collection. (With all the "moons" in this paper line, I figured what better paper to use on the moon!) The fence was painted with some shades of browns.

The ghost, pumpkin, bat, spider and Boo! are all Inque Boutique stamps. The cat is a Inkadinkado stamp and the little Happy Halloween is by Studio G. The flocked paper is by Heidi Grace and the cardstock is Bazzill Basics. So, now you now what I mean by a Frankenstein card, there are parts from everywhere!! LOL

I finished off the card with some Ultra fine glitter, brads, ribbon and some DMC floss for the spider to hang from the moon.

Thanks for stopping by. I will be back later to let you know how I did in Round 1 of Simple Scrapbook's Stamping Contest, as soon as I find out!!

Say Yes to Pink...Snowflakes!

This card looks so much prettier in person. Because of all the glitter, it is hard to get a good photograph! I used my glue pad to stamp all the snowflakes onto the cardstock. I then added some Ultra Fine light pink glitter to it. The snowflake stamps are by Inque Boutique(Flurries). The Tag stamp is by Inkadinkado. And the wooden snowflake is by Provo Craft which I painted white, added some glitter glaze, ribbon and a button to it.

To finish off the card, I added some pretty sheer, pink ribbon, pink pearls by Kaiser Craft and a pink safety pin.

Autumn Owl

Here is a simple card I made with Pink Paislee's new Vintage Moon Collection. I used the stamps and Die cut Paper from the line. I simple folded the paper in half from side to side, the cut across with my trimmer, to get the shape. I tore, distressed, inked and then hand stitched some cardstock onto the PP. Then added some Ki Memories Lace Cardstock in orange, then the cute branch and owl that I stamped using some Colorbox inks. I colored in the owl with some Martha Stewart Markers and then added a coating of Glitter Glaze. Then I adhered the rest of the stamps as well as a bow with some buttons attached to the center of it.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Have a great Sunday!!

The snowflakes are by Provo Craft. They are a very thin wood and can be found at Michaels. I painted 2 with some white paint and covered another with paper by My Mind's Eye. I finished them off with some Glitter Glaze, sheer ribbon and buttons.

To finish everything off, I added some sheer, red ribbon with white snowflakes on it, (so pretty!), some snowflakes stickers and a holiday pick.

I need your Votes!! Please!

I just received word the other day, that I made it to the 1st Round at Simple Scrapbook Magazine's "So You Think You Can Stamp" Contest! YAY!! I'm very excited but very SCARED!! LOL Only 16 people made it to this round! The first Round you have to use a stamping technique called "Stamp Kissing" on a layout.
So, here is mine! I used the technique on the flowers, butterflies, tags and the journaling spot. I also used some Bo Bunny paper, Prima Crystals, Magic Mesh and some mesh ribbon.

For the flowers, I first stamped the solid images in a light blue and brown ink. I then stamp the outline stamps in a darker blue and brown ink. Then, in white ink, I stamped some swirly images onto the petals. Finished them off with some glitter glaze and a brad. One of the large flowers has 3 layers and the other has 2.

For the butterflies I did relatively the same way only I used 5 different colors, 2 shades of blues, 2 shades of browns and some white. For the large tag, I stamped the french script background and then the tag stamp over that and the same for the small tag that says "Memories".
For the journaling spot, I stamped the round circles first in a blue ink and then in a brown ink. Then the inner lines with a brown ink. And finally, I stamped some little flowers on top of that, with a light blue ink and brown centers.

I am super excited about this. Please come and vote for me here! The final vote for this round is Monday the 15th. So please, it just takes a few seconds. My layout is titled "Remember" just click up on the top that you love it! and leave me a quick comment so I know you were there!! I would really appreciate it!!

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day! God Bless America!! 9-11-01

Remember When....

Just a quick post today! Here is a card I made using some Fancy Pants Paper, Rub-Ons and Velvet Ribbon. I also added some Crystal Flourishes by Prima (Say it in Crystals). The flourish was too big for the card, so I cut it up and made smaller flourishes. The flowers are also Prima. The cute brads are by K&Co. I added some lace trim around the edges for a little bit of a vintage look.

I am currently trying out for a few Design teams and hopefully will hear something soon. I am so excited!! Wish me Luck!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

WOW! 2 posts today! I'm on a Roll!

Here is a fun layout I did for a contest where you have to use Fancy Pants Papers and/or embellies. All the papers are from the Fancy Pants "About A Boy" Collection.
I covered the Inque Boutique Chipboard letters in the "Peace" paper(also covered them with some Stickles for some added bling!) as well as the swirly stars, circles and flower thingy that I cut out. The Cosmo Cricket Star is covered in a paper called "Wild Child". The background paper is called "Rockin'".
I also used an Inque Boutique stamp from the "Swirly Borders" set. And I added some crystal circle frames and ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas is just around the corner!!

It will be here before we know it! Look how fast the summer flew by! So I decided, since it is 90 degrees outside, to make a Christmas card. Go figure!!

The patterned paper is by Rhonna Farrer for Autumn Leaves and the stamp set I used is by Hero Arts, CL100 Many Blessings.

I stamped the trees onto white cardstock with dark brown ink. Then colored in the trunks with my Martha Stewart brown marker and the trees with my glistening chalks. Then added some White Puffs Embossing powder by Ranger and heated it up. It looks so cool when it puffs up! I then punched out the trees with my 2 1/8 circle punch and inked the edges with red ink. I also punched out the circles in the background and stamped them with little snowflakes in light blue ink and stickled them up too! I adhered the trees with pop dots.

The snowmen and bird are colored in with some more Martha Stewart Markers (they are a good thing!) and then I topped them off with some stickles.

Added some Hero Arts crystals and some ribbon and there you have it!!

Have a great day!

Hugs, Melissa
